Road Closures

Access permits will be issued to all affected residents. A letter will be issued containing all the information required to obtain a access permit.
Access permits can only be issued to residents living on the affected streets. Permits can not be used for friends or family.

  • Links Road
  • St. Combs Road
  • Roseacer Street

Friday 21st 7:00 – Sunday 23rd 19:00

The additional following roads will be closed for the during of the above dates

  • Church Street
  • Cullen Street
  • The Square
  • North High Street
  • South High Street
  • Culbert Street
  • Schoolhendry Street
  • Malace Terrence
  • Barbank Street
  • Bridge Street
  • Low Street

Road closure points will be manned by a third party security company.

Why are roads within Portsoy closed during the run-up and festival weekend?2024-06-09T09:54:40+01:00

Roads surrounding the Festival are closed for public safety and to assist with setting up the Festival.

Can I still access my property by vehicle if I live in the effected town?2024-06-09T09:54:16+01:00

Yes, you can still access your property by vehicle, but you must obtain a resident’s vehicle permit from the Ticket & Information Office. You should have received a letter making you aware of this To collect your permit, please take a copy of the letter along with the completed Resident Vehicle Access Form. Access to Shore Street, Shorehead, Links Road and Burnside Street will not be permitted by any vehicle between 7 am – 7 pm Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June 2024.

A copy of the Residents Vehicle Access Form can be found here. Please note only residents located within the road closure areas can request a vehicle permit.

A security company will man all road closure points and access will be refused without an access permit.

Yes, several streets within the town will have parking restrictions. These will be identified with no waiting cones and signage.

In the first instance, please talk to the Volunteers at the Ticket & Information office, who will explain the reasons behind the restrictions and answer any concerns you have.

I live within the Festival payment area. Do I receive a free pass?2024-06-09T09:50:50+01:00

Yes, all houses within the payment area have been given a letter to make them aware. To receive your passes, please bring the letter along to the Ticket & Information office to receive them.

I work within the restricted area. Can I still get access?2024-06-09T09:50:24+01:00

Access may be granted on request by a Festival Official. An access permit will still be required which you request from the Ticket & Information Office. Please find a copy of the Vehicle Access Form here with all the information required.
The request will only be accepted if deemed necessary. Proof such as workplace ID may be requested during collection.

If you work within the payment area please request access via your workplace. Proof of employment will be required when collecting passes from the Ticket & Information Office.

If you have any concerns about the restrictions, please first speak with the Volunteers at the Ticket & Information Office. They will explain the reasons behind the restrictions and address any questions you may have. Remember, everyone working in the Ticket & Information Office and organising the Festival are volunteers and will not tolerate any form of aggravation.

The above opening hours will be completely dependent on availability of volunteers. There may therefore be last minute amendments to the above stated times.
